I could be cliche and ask the question, "Where does the time go?" But the truth is, I know where the time went. Unlike most of my high school and college years, I can remember almost everyday of this baby boy's life. I can recall the first time he smiled at me, the first laugh, the first word, his army crawl, his first steps, his first broken bone. I look forward to him waking up in the morning because he runs in like he hasn't seen me in days and yells, "Mommy, you're here!" And of course I look forward to his bedtime (and not just b/c I can get some peace and quiet!) because he loves for me to sing to him or read to him and always asks for just one more BIG hug. This child lights up my world. He has made it whole and I love him so much it hurts. Happy Birthday T-Bird! You are one beautiful addition to our family.
And of course I couldn't finish this post without showing pictures of his birthday party. He had so much fun at JW Tumbles with all of his little friends. This year instead of having a big party with lots of adults and children, I only did his age group of friends which I think he really enjoyed a lot more. And Mommy made his 3rd birthday cake, a pirate ship. It was a royal pain in my A$$ because I had to freehand everything but I think it turned out ok. I am not looking forward to making another one in 2 weeks.
His present from us was a CARS 2 bicycle, no training wheels. We waited until today to give it to him. And I am not exagerating (or adding Lockie-tax as Warren calls it) when I tell you that in less than 2 minutes the child had it figured out and was off like Lighting McQueen! No training wheels!!!!! If I can offer any advice for parents of little boys, get them a Strider at age 2. It obviously works like a charm. Now I've got to get a bike to keep up with him!
